Jim Moser
Jim Moser entered the art world upon graduating from the School of Advertising Art with a degree in Graphic Design. After 9 years of marketing everything from bananas to handguns, he took a welding class and found his true passion. Jim has been creating sculpture since 1999 with an emphasis on found materials and kinetics. The beauty of working with found and reclaimed materials goes beyond the financial benefit. One has to ponder how many lives have touched this piece of metal and what purpose it served in it’s former life. Oftentimes, these considerations affect the direction of a sculpture. As far as kinetics are concerned, I simply think people prefer to physically interact with art.“Creating sculpture scratches an itch that I can’t quite reach.” says Moser. His mantra is: In every scrap of rusty metal there’s a sculpture looking for its appendages, and I’m Dr. Frankenstein.
