Painting is a physical and material activity rather than a language that conveys meaning. It is about chance happenings and a fusion of formal opposites such as geometric vs. organic and spontaneous vs. controlled. What is left is a residual object…an accumulation, a subtle archaeology of marks and traces, uncovering, excavated, exhumed, signaling the recent past.
